Architect: Bronwen Jones The post-war boom of the 1950s and 60s was a wonderful time for Hobart architects! Inspired by both international examples and immigrating designers, they set about building a better world. Walk with architect Bronwen Jones and learn about Modernism’s influence on Hobart’s city centre. Featured buildings – State Library of Tasmania and The Stack, former MLC Building, Lands Building, and former AMP Building. Accessibility: Some steps and uneven surfaces.
Open House is an annual architecture program that opens some of Tasmania’s most unique buildings to the public, including private homes and historic buildings across lutruwita Tasmania. We acknowledge that Open House takes place on the land of the traditional owners of lutruwita (Tasmania) and pay respects to the palawa people, Tasmanian Aboriginal Community and to Elders - past, present and emerging.
