Overview

Flexible working arrangements are essential to achieving gender equity in the workplace. 
What are the challenges, what works, what doesn’t, and how have other practices implemented flexible conditions for their staff? These are some of the questions to be discussed and debated at this entertaining and informative roundtable discussion.

This presentation is equivalent to 2 hours/points of formal CPD and will deliver outcomes related to the following Competency/s from the National Standard of Competency for Architects:

Practice Management 
9.1 Knowledge and implementation of appropriate practice model to ensure efficient, effective and ethical professional service.
9.2 Knowledge and application of practice resources required to ensure efficient and effective professional service. 
9.6 Knowledge and application of professional ethics and ethical practices in respect to practice management and provision of professional service.

At the end of this session participants should be able to:

  • List key tips for implementing gender equity and flexibility in your workplace
  • Recognise how a diverse and flexible workplace is rewarding and a good investment for your Practice
  • Identify pitfalls associated with flexible workplaces and minimise these risks to ensure the arrangement is mutually beneficial for your Practice and your employees

    Associate at Bespoke Careers

    A trained architect who worked in practice for a number of years. She then moved into architectural practice management culminating as a Practice Manager at Bates Smart a position she held for 9 years. Misty offers a unique perspective gained from an internal management roles gained in practice but also now an ‘external’ view where she works with many of the industry’s practices. She has a strong understanding of all aspects of recruitment, resourcing, staff management, talent development and staff retention.
