Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course participants should be able to: 

  • Describe your brand, and position in the market and develop a business development strategy that aligns with this.
  • Identify your ideal market sector/s and your ideal clients.
  • Align your marketing and communications plan with your business development strategy to ensure an ongoing pipeline of work. 
  • Explain the importance of the role of referrers and how to activate them.
  • Evaluate and select marketing activities that will best connect you with your prospective clients and strengthen your relationship with your referrers and existing clients.

Lindy is the Director of Lindy Johnson Creative, which provides marketing, business development and publicity & media services to leading architecture and design firms in Australia and the UK.

She has 30 years’ experience working at senior levels of government and industry creating national and global demand for artists, designers and architects.
Lindy conceived and branded world-first government-to-business programs like HEAT Architecture. HEAT was a highly successful program for architects and designers, which generated millions of dollars in international editorial and new commissions.
She also created Australia’s first whole-of-government 2% for public art policy and the Ulysses program, which continues to use design to transform Australian businesses.

Lindy is a judge for Australia’s Good Design Awards, is on the Advisory Board of Bond University’s Abedian School of Architecture and a regular guest lecturer to universities and industry associations.
