EM BE CE

Mladen Prnjatovic, Director | Ben Green, Director | Chi Melhem, Director

EM BE CE is an architectural practice established in Sydney in July 2021. The practice’s name is derived from a phonetic rendering of the first letter in the names of the three founding directors: Mladen, Ben, Chi - EM BE CE. The name embodies the studio’s approach to a collective and collaborative working ethos.

Prior to setting up EM BE CE, Mladen, Ben and Chi spent twenty years at Tzannes. In their time as directors of Tzannes, they helped transform the practice’s identity, introduce new sectors of work, new ways of working and new ways of making architecture. Their collective experience spanned the full range of project scales and types.

At EM BE CE, Mladen, Ben and Chi lead a team of 14 architects, working on over 40 projects across the spectrum of the built environment, from the chair to the city. Their current commissions include mixed use, multi-residential and commercial projects, urban renewal, heritage adaptation, precinct planning and bespoke homes. Mladen, Ben and Chi are also passionate advocates for the profession, serving on various industry and professional panels and associations, and advising government on the design review panels. They all held teaching roles at the UNSW and UWS.
