Mparntwe (Alice Springs) Speaker Series – EmAGN #4
Mparntwe (Alice Springs) Event – Speaker Series #4

Join the Alice Springs EmAGN team in the fourth of a series featuring legendary Architect Michael McPhee - a pioneer in context responsive architecture, community led design, and passive solar principles.

Speaker Bio

Andrew's visionary work helped shape the built environment of Alice Springs and remote Aboriginal communities from the 1960's through to the 1980's. His architecture goes beyond buildings - it's grounded in a deep understanding of place, people and culture.

You've likely seen his iconic designs all over town - from the Council Chambers to both the Catholic and Anglican churches, and many distinctive homes. His work reflects a rare sensitivity to landscape, climate and community needs.

In this special event, Andrew will virtually reflect on his remarkable careers, sharing stories of collaboration, cultural exchange, and design strategies shaped by the Central Australian Context.  If you would like some additional reading, head over to the link below to read more about Andrew's works.  https://architectureau.com/articles/housing-4/

EmAGN’s goals are to support and provide opportunities for emerging architects by creating events and initiatives which help grow connections within the industry.
