Celebrate the announcements of the winners and commended projects for the 2022 Sunshine Coast Region Architecture Awards with clients, colleagues and collaborators at the University of Sunshine Coast.
The Queensland Regional Awards presents the winners and commendations at the regional level of the Queensland awards program. These projects become shortlisted for the Queensland Architecture Awards at state level of the program. The Queensland Architecture Awards will be presented on the 24th of June 2022 at the State Library of Queensland. If you would like to attend the Queensland Architecture awards, please register here.
Jack Bryce, OMA MPIA
Jack Bryce is an urban designer with experience as a design consultant and advisor to government, business, residential, tourism and transit projects across Australia and internationally. Currently he is Principal Urban Designer at Moreton Bay Regional Council working on the Reshaping Our Region's Planning folio of Great Places improvement projects.
He is known as a strategic design policy advisor and creative facilitator for public infrastructure and civic precincts development. Prior to his work at Moreton Bay Council, he was involved in urban design coordination and design review for Gold Coast light rail and 2018 Commonwealth Games infrastructure and venues development working in the Office of Architecture and Heritage at City of Gold Coast.
Beyond his urban design work, he is involved as advisor and director with community organisations and is currently a Director of the Urban Design Alliance of Queensland. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to Urban Design in 2022.
John Mainwaring, Director HMA Architecture
John is currently a director of Hollindale Mainwaring Architecture formerly JMA architects. The company has received awards from all corners of the industry including Institute national and state awards. He is chair of the University Sunshine Coast (USC) vice chancellors art gallery committee, a fellow of the Queensland Art Gallery, board member of the Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation and member of Sunshine Coast Ecological Park advisory panel, member of the Urban Design Advisory Panel for the Sunshine Coast Council, member of the Qld Historical Society, past chair of the Qld Heritage Council development committee and life fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects. John is a graduate of the University of Queensland and has an honorary PHD from the USC. Work is predominantly in SE Qld including the Sunshine Coast and hinterland and Moreton Bay region.
