4th Wall Theatre Series

4th Wall Theatre Series

The Australian Institute of Architects and Brickworks are delighted to present a unique experience of one of Melbourne's architectural darlings, The Capitol Theatre. Originally designed by Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony in 1924, Six Degrees Architects lovingly restored the theatre in 2019. We invite students, architects and the public to go behind the "4th wall" of the theatre to learn about the restoration work of the building by the project team before experiencing the full performance of the cinema with a Theatre ceiling light show and the screening of the Wes Anderson film "The Grand Budapest”.
