For International Women's Day and beyond, let's all fully #EmbraceEquity. Equity isn't just a nice-to-have, it's a must-have. A focus on gender equity needs to be part of every society's DNA. We can all truly embrace equity. It's not just something we say. It's not just something we write about. It's something we need to think about, know, and embrace. It's what we believe in, unconditionally. Equity means creating a fair and equal world. Join us for a breakfast networking event, featuring a panel discussion on the topic "Embracing Equity: Innovation for a Gender Equal Future" Keynote Speaker Sophie Bond - Hassell Sophie Bond is a registered architect and Principal of Hassell, the WA Vice President of NAWIC (the National Association of Women in Construction), an enthusiastic but slow long-distance runner, and now mother to a little boy called Louis. Sophie has always been drawn to ambitious projects that demand a delicate balance between cultural, commercial and design objectives. She has earned a reputation as a big-picture thinker who still has an eye for detail on projects such as the revival of the Sydney Theatre Company and its historic wharf. She has practiced in Perth, Sydney and London, working on architecture and interior architecture projects across the commercial, workplace, education and cultural sectors. She has a similar ambition for our profession and people as she does for her projects, and as a passionate advocate for gender equity in architecture firmly believes that a diverse, inclusive and flexible profession is to everyone’s benefit – individually and collectively. She looks forward to sharing her experience in practice, lessons learned through her involvement with the NAWIC chapter council and hopes for the future of a diverse and vibrant industry that #embracesequity
