Overview
As part of NAIDOC Week 2026, EmAGN NSW is pleased to present a guided tour of Green Square Public School, one of Sydney’s newest public education facilities and a significant civic project within the Green Square urban renewal precinct.
Hosted by BVN together with representatives from the school and project team, the tour will explore the design of contemporary learning environments, the role of community-focused architecture, and the integration of public art and Country within the built environment.
Attendees will hear directly from the project architects, school leadership and contributors involved in the development of the project, gaining insight into the design process, educational outcomes, public art strategy and placemaking ambitions that have shaped the school The tour will conclude with an informal coffee catch-up, providing an opportunity for further discussion and networking.
Speakers

Ali Bounds,
Co-CEO & Principal, BVN
BVN co-CEO and Principal Ali Bounds is both ideologically driven and pragmatic when it comes to making architecture better engage with our streets, neighbourhoods, cities and environment. The concept of experience is central in Ali’s approach to design. Her original thinking and expertise in pedagogy and user consultation has seen her projects recognised for design innovation and the buildings become high-value community assets stitched into their environs. Her imprint can be found on award-winning projects spanning healthcare, research, education, workplace and adaptive reuse with learning environments that push the boundaries and civic buildings that offer captivating journeys of discovery.
Ali Bounds and Matthew Blair are the project Principals who led the design of the Green Square Public School and Community Spaces with the team from the competition winning scheme through to the completion of the constructed building.

Kate Campbell,
Practice Director, BVN
Kate is passionate about how design can promote rich, diverse, and connected experiences. Kate is a versatile designer who brings experience across a wide range of education and public projects. Her rich multidisciplinary background in film, exhibition design, and public art enables her to be innovative and inventive, particularly in unique project settings. She is skilled in translating complex briefs, differing pedagogical approaches, and draws on a deep understanding of the Designing with Country Framework to inform her design process. Kate is a leader of BVN’s internal education research unit GLEAM, where she has the opportunity to disseminate her knowledge across the practice.

Caroline Comino,
Public Art Consultant & Architect
Bringing delight to the public domain has kept Caroline Comino passionately engaged in the challenging and rewarding field of facilitating public art projects for the last 15 years. As a registered architect who has worked across the design and delivery of art and architecture to transform public space, Caroline has worked with mature artists as well as emerging, using her design background to closely work through design and technical issues and look at all opportunities that a site may present.
Caroline has also had the privilege throughout her career to engage with First Nations People through the delivery of housing, public art and research, which has been key in shaping her deep respect for Country and Culture. Caroline has worked for architectural practices, universities, the NSW Government Architects Office and commercial developers, so has a clear understanding of the purpose and value of art and culture and how it can contribute to the poetic dimension of a city.
She sees the public art and placemaking process as an opportunity to listen to community and Country and create unique artworks as well as build relationships and capabilities that can have a positive impact on the site and beyond.

Nicole Molloy,
Foundation Principal, Green Square Public School
Nicole Molloy is the foundation principal of Green Square Public School, Bringing extensive experience and commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment. Nicole serves as the foundation principal of Green Square Public School, which opened in 2025. She has 28 years of experience in public education, including 14 years as a principal, and is dedicated to creating a caring and high-achieving school culture. Her leadership focuses on supporting students' growth, nurturing strong relationships, and collaborating closely with families to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
