Government House’s gardens are regarded amongst the finest Victorian-era gardens in Australia. Join Tara Edmondson, Estate Gardens Manager, for a guided tour of the estate, including the food production gardens, all while taking in sweeping views of Hobart and the Derwent River.
Open House is an annual architecture program that opens some of Tasmania’s most unique buildings to the public, including private homes and historic buildings across lutruwita Tasmania. We acknowledge that Open House takes place on the land of the traditional owners of lutruwita (Tasmania) and pay respects to the palawa people, Tasmanian Aboriginal Community and to Elders - past, present and emerging.
Accessibility: Uneven and narrow paths, including stairs. This walking tour will cover a large area of the estate.
