Overview

The talk will outline the content of the new Design for Manufacture and Assembly overlay and accompanying report, and set out the key issues the construction industry needs to address to derive value from DfMA and modern methods of construction.

Nigel will set out some of the key issues architects and other members of the project team (including the client) need to consider in following a DfMA approach on their projects and look at how DfMA can achieve high quality architecture whilst delivering value and better productivity.

Mark will reflect on the growing external factors driving the need for Architects and other professionals to think differently about their business models and the adoption of digital and DfMA principles.

There will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end. The overlay can be downloaded from https://www.architecture.com/knowledge-and-resources/resources-landing-page/dfma-overlay-to-the-riba-plan-of-work
