The Respect@The Institute Workplace Training, presented by Allens, provides comprehensive training on Australia's Work Health and Safety (WHS) framework, focusing on psychosocial hazards and recent amendments to the Sex Discrimination Act. Participants will learn about their responsibilities under WHS laws, how to manage risks related to workplace harassment, and the obligations of employers and officers in ensuring a safe, inclusive work environment.

This seminar provides two informal CPD points.

Performance Criteria

PRACTICE MANAGEMENT AND PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
PC1 Comply with the regulatory requirements and obligations pertaining to practice as an architect, including legislation, professional codes of conduct, obligations for continuing professional development and professional indemnity insurance.
PC2 Implement practice resources and apply ethical employment practice methods and quality assurance systems to facilitate efficient, consistent and timely delivery of architectural services.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, attendees will be able to:

- Understand WHS Responsibilities
- Identify and Manage Psychosocial Hazards
- Understand the recent amendments to the Sex Discrimination Act, and their legal responsibilities to prevent sexual harassment, sex-based discrimination, and hostile work environments.
- Fulfil Officer Due Diligence and Accountability
- Create a Supportive and Inclusive Workplace

Associate, Allens Employment and Safety Team

Emma is an Associate in the Employment and Safety team in Brisbane. She advises a broad range of clients across the fields of employment, industrial relations and work health and safety.  She has also completed an in-house secondment with Origin Energy.
Emma is experienced advising on complex employment and work health and safety matters, including providing advice on matters of compliance, risk management and industry best practice, acting in significant safety prosecutions and providing workplace training to clients on employment and work health and safety matters. 
Emma works with clients in all jurisdictions across Australia.
